Electrical Technician Training Program
The Electrician Training Program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training that they need to begin a rewarding career as an electrician. The program teaches students how to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial applications.
The great thing about the program is that it can be completed, and students can earn their diploma in as few as 10 months, placing them on the fast track to becoming entry-level electrician technicians.
Students are taught electrical wiring by working on skill-building stations in on-site labs at Workforce Career Center. Upon graduation from the program, students should be able to install wiring in new buildings and maintain and repair existing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
The program is hybrid, meaning it combines both online learning and in-classroom and lab training, making it easier than ever before for students to graduate from the program.

The program is designed to provide students with a foundation for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
The program starts out by introducing students to basic safety precautions that electricians must take in construction and work sites. The program then proceeds to instruct students on electrical theory, covering the fundamentals of energy, transformers, capacitors, and power generation.
The program also covers flexible conduits and flexible cable assemblies, and NEC code requirements. Furthermore, the electrician course covers residential and commercial applications, introducing students to load calculations, lighting outlets, grounding, bonding, and three-phase electrical distribution systems.
The classes also include instruction on low voltage applications, motors, programmable logic controllers, and the fundamentals of solar panels.

About This Program
Workforce Career Center’s Electrician Training Program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training that prepares them to become entry-level electricians.
As Workforce Career Center Students train to become electrical technicians, they will be trained on installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems used to power modern homes and commercial buildings, making peoples’ lives easier and more convenient.
The great thing about the program is that it’s hybrid, meaning students have a more flexible schedule since the program combines both online learning with on-site classes and labs. Typically, you will spend two days on campus, practicing the hands-on skills you’ve learned using real equipment. Hands-on labs help prepare students for the types of electrical components and tools they will use in the real world.

The Electrician Technician Training Program can be completed in as few as 10 months and provides plenty of opportunities to practice skills in a hands-on environment so graduates can feel confident applying for entry-level positions in the field after graduation.
All of the programs at Workforce Career Center are hybrid, where students complete some assignments online during the week and then come to campus for hands-on practice twice a week. In-person classes are offered in the morning or evening.

Graduates of the Electrician Technician program will have been taught all the skills to work as an entry-level electrician or security and fire alarm installer. They may work in a residential or commercial environment.
